It’s the holiday season, which means: lots of food, lots of wine, and lots of parties.

What better way to get into the holiday spirit by dressing the part??

I’ve always mentioned that dressing up can change your entire mood and attitude. While many people hate the cold weather, shoveling and snow covering the tops of their gorgeous up-do, let’s talk about some ways you can show up to your holiday parties looking like a sexy diva…or if you’re a guy, a complete stud.

Fashion is about feeling comfortable and owning it – no matter what you wear.

No one ever said choosing a monochromatic outfit was taboo, and if they did, they clearly don’t know what fashion is all about.

From the likes of Rihanna, Kim Kardashian, Lupita Nyong’o and even Kate Middleton, the style of matching your bottoms to your top has been everlasting.

I tend to go for something all black, but a more refreshing look for this season is to wear all white. While some might find pairing your top to your bottom too jarring to look at, break the look by adding statement jewelry. The attention will get drawn to the right areas of your outfit. If you were going someplace where being conservative is the better look, I would pick a more traditional outfit and add pieces to glam it up. Pants are my go to, preferably flared high waisted pants. They sinch you at the right areas of your body giving you shape, but also maintaining a level of class. Go for a more muted look, black and white, but glam it up by adding a statement jacket. I did sequence, but if that’s not your thing, you can even wear a coloured blazer. (pic four and pic five)

Now if I were invited to go to a friend’s family Christmas party, I would maintain the class by adding some pattern to my wardrobe. I always found stripes or polka dots to exude the class that I’m talking about. Keeping it in the neutral family, mixing black, beige and white is my idea of the perfect classy combination.

But if the party consists of going out with your best friends and you need to draw some attention to yourself, add some sparkle to your life by wearing something shiny and something tight. Tight dresses hug you in the right areas and accentuate the curves your body has. Stay classy when you do this though!!

There is no such thing as a holiday outfit trend…fashion is about breaking the trends and doing what makes you feel the best in.

So this holiday season, dress fabulously, stay happy, stay safe and always remember to keep smiling!
